Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) announced that four early-career musicians were selected for its Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship, a prestigious program sponsored by LACO in partnership with the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) that engages members of historically underrepresented groups in western classical music ensembles. The 2023-2025 cohort of Fellows, including two wind players and two string players, are flutist Alejandro Lombo, double bassist Matthew Peralta, oboist Eder Rivera, and violinist Nicolas Valencia.
The Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association announced the election of seven new board members who have joined over the past seven months: Camilo Becdach, Jonathan Congdon, Hilary Garland, Tammy Golihew, Suzanne Hart, Vikki Sung and Keith Terasaki.
A 2024 Grammy Award was awarded to Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil for their performance of Thomas Adès: Dante in the category of Best Orchestral Performance.

San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus were nominated for two 2024 Grammy Awards. The live-concert recording of Igor Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring conducted by Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen and featuring the San Francisco Symphony has been nominated in the category of Best Orchestral Performance. György Ligeti: Lux Aeterna, conducted by Salonen and featuring the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, was nominated in the category of Best Choral Performance.
Symphony San Jose and the American Federations of Musician Local 6 announced the ratification of a new four-year contract, covering the 2023-2027 seasons.
