Thursday, July 25, 2024 | 10am-12pm PT Taught by Conductor Rei Hotoda (Music Director, Fresno Philharmonic) and hosted by the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) and San Francisco Philharmonic (Music Director Jessica Bejarano), this 2-hour fee-based masterclass takes place in beautiful San Francisco in conjunction with the ACSO 2024 Annual Conference. The masterclass includes 15 minutes of hands-on podium time with a seasoned music director. Participants may record themselves but must bring their own camera. Repertoire (subject to change):
Applications are required and eight (8) participants will be accepted, with a waitlist. Conducting students and early or mid-career conductors from California and surrounding states are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be 21 years or older to apply. Applications are due by June 15 and must include a resume and a 3-5 minute video conducting of 2-3 contrasting movements.

*Travel and accommodations are the responsibility of the participants, but participants can take advantage of the discounted conference group rate ($249+tax) at the Hyatt SOMA, while inventory lasts. Reserve your room here before July 3 here.
**ACSO Conference Registration: If masterclass participants are students, they can register for the conference at the heavily discounted student rate of $150, with proof of student status. About Maestro Rei Hotoda Rei has been the Music Director of the Fresno Philharmonic since 2017 and has worked tirelessly to build first-time and unique connections with the Fresno community with an eye toward reaching different audiences.
