Golijov: Sidereus . . . belonging to the stars, this atmospheric masterpiece showcases the sparkle of the orchestra and is one of the most popular pieces for orchestra written in the last twenty years!

Shostakovich: Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-Flat Major, Op. 107 . . . Shostakovich stamped his musical initials right into this piece.  You will hear the DSCH theme throughout all of the movements of this powerful and driving masterpiece.

Elgar: Enigma Variations Op. 36 . . . Elgar composed these fourteen variations to represent his friends, family, and even himself.  One of music’s most touching and sentimental pieces, to this day we still don’t know the secret theme Elgar based these variations on – maybe you can solve the enigma!
