NEA Announces $256,000 in Grants Funds to ACSO and 9 of its Members

On May 24, 2023, The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced the second round of recommended awards for fiscal year 2023, with more than $103 million in funding to support the arts nationwide. This is the second of the NEA’s two major grant announcements each fiscal year and includes grants to organizations through the NEA’s Grants for Arts Projects, Our Town, and State and Regional Partnership categories.

ACSO and nine of its members have been selected to receive Grants for Arts Projects in the Music and Arts Education categories, totaling $256,000 in funding (see list below). For the full announcement from the NEA, please click here.

“The National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to support a wide range of projects, demonstrating the many ways the arts enrich our lives and contribute to healthy and thriving communities,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “These organizations play an important role in advancing the creative vitality of our nation and helping to ensure that all people can benefit from arts, culture, and design.”

Sarah Weber, ACSO Executive Director, said, "We offer congratulations to the nine organizations in the ACSO community that received project grants from the NEA. They are worthy recipients and are doing remarkable work in their communities. We are also thrilled to receive our own NEA grant to support the ACSO 2023 Annual Conference. We are grateful to the NEA for continuing to support the classical music sector. NEA funding makes it possible for orchestras and music organizations to create innovative programs, commission new music, connect more deeply with their communities, and further their impact."
