Lead By Example: A Call for ACSO Board Candidates

If you are a member of ACSO (as an individual or as part of your organization's membership), this is a call for you to directly participate in shaping the field by serving on ACSO’s Board of Directors.

ACSO looks to broaden our board representation by inviting new prospects who reflect our diverse and robust member network. We want to uncover passionate individuals at all career levels who could lend their talents, expertise, and unique viewpoints to ACSO’s Board over the next few years.

We are interested in individuals who are ready to help expand ACSO's capacity to serve its members and who want to contribute to contribute more deeply to shaping the future trajectory of classical music and arts administration. We invite you to the table where you can lead by example. 

Specifically, ACSO is seeking candidates who are:

  • Orchestra administration professionals working in patron services, HR/finance, education, development, artistic planning, operations
  • Practicing musicians, composers, music director, and teaching artists
  • Staff or board leaders from community orchestras, youth orchestras, and small budget (under $1 million) professional orchestras
  • Trustees of orchestras who are looking to expand their leadership
  • Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) candidates are highly encouraged
